Ministry of Community and Social Services, ON – তে লোক নিয়োগ

নিম্নলিখিত job posting-টি মিনিস্ট্রি- র website- এ গেলেই দেখতে পাবেন, কিন্তু তার পরেও আমি এখানে শেয়ার করছি এই কারণে যে ইতিপূর্বে অনেক অনেক যোগ্য প্রাথী এই ধরণের সুযোগ মিস করেছে। তাছাড়া বিজ্ঞাপনটি পড়ে কোয়ালিফিকেশনটি অনেকের কাছে খুব পরিষ্কার হয় না। এটি মূলত ওদের ODSP programe-এ  যারা ক্লায়েন্ট তাদের কাস্টমার সার্ভিস এবং পরামর্শ প্রদান করা, social assistance নির্ণয়ের জন্য তথ্য সংগ্রহ করে তাদের বেনিফিট পাওয়ার যোগ্যতা নির্ণয় করা, বেনিফিট নিয়ে মত পার্থক্য থাকলে সেটা নিরসন করা, ক্লায়েন্টদেরকে মিনিস্ট্রি’র আইন কানুন বেখ্যা করা, যোগাযোগের তথ্য উপাত্ত সংগ্রহ করা , সময় সময় প্রেসেন্টেশন তৈরী করা এবং সেটা বিভিন্ন জায়গাতে উপস্থাপন করা ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে কাজ করা।

মোট কোটা দুইটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় হলো customer service এন্ড communication skills . এটি আসলে কোনো typical Social Work জব না তাই যাদের খুব ভালো customer service এবং communication skills আছে এবং নুন্নতম একটি কলেজ ডিপ্লোমা বা এই জাতীয় ডিগ্রী আছে তারা আবেদন করতে পারবেন যদিও বিজ্ঞাপনে ডিগ্রী সম্মন্ধে তেমন কিছু লিখে নাই। হা, কাজের অভিজ্ঞতাকে এরা  অনেক গুরুত্ব দিবে, সেটা কানাডিয়ান বা বিদেশিও হতে পারে। বেশ কিছু পদ খালি আছে, কিছু FT temporary আর কিছু FT permanent. এন্ট্রি লেভেল হিসাবে সোশ্যাল সার্ভিস সেক্টরে খুব কম কাজই আছে যে খানে এ ধরণের বেতন দেয়।  এদের বেনিফিট প্যাকেজেও খুব ভালো।

মিনিস্ট্রি-র ওয়েবসাইটে গিয়ে ODSP প্রোগ্রাম দেখলে আরো অনেক বেশি ধারণা হবে।  তবে এটা যেহেতু টিপিকাল সোশ্যাল ওয়ার্ক নয় তাই এটি  সোশ্যাল সার্ভিস ফিল্ডের অনেক পজিশনের থেকে simple, শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতাও তেমন বেশি কিছু না এবং আপনাকে রেজিস্টার্ড সোশ্যাল ওয়ার্কারও হওয়ার দরকার নেই। বেশ কয়েক বছোর আগে আমার পরিচিত এক ইন্ডিয়ান  ভদ্রমহিলা এই পসিশন পেয়েসিলেন, উনি economics-র ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড, ব্যাঙ্ক এবং NGO তে কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল।

ডেডলাইন নভেম্বর ২৯ অর্থ্যাৎ খুব বেশি সময় নেই। রেসুমে লেখার সময় মনে রাখবেন আপনার রেসুমে যেন এদের key qualification এর সাথে মিল থাকে।

আপনাকে যদি ইন্টারভিউ তে ডাকে এবং যদি আপনার এদের written, oral ইত্যাদি পরীক্ষা সম্মন্ধে জানার দরকার হয় তাহলে আমরা এদের পরীক্ষার ধরণ কি হতে পারে এবং কি ধরণের উত্তর আশা করে সে বেপারে আপনাকে সাহায্য করতে পারি। যদি একের অধিক ক্যান্ডিডেট হয় তাহলে আমরা গ্রপ ডিসকাশনের আয়োজন করতে পারি।  আমি ইতিপূর্বে Ryerson University-র সাথে এ ধরণের discussion করেছি এবং তাতে ক্যাডিনডিডটদের অনেক উপকার হয়েছে।

Caseworker

Your strong client-focused, consultation and analytical expertise is needed with the Ministry of Community and Social Services to deliver the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), using a case management approach.

What can I expect to do in this role?

• Provide customer service and consultation to clients
  • Collect and evaluate information to determine eligibility for ODSP Income and Employment Supports
  • Make adjustments to entitlements and resolve conflict situations
  • Explain legislation and ministry initiatives
  • Prepare a range of communication materials
  • Plan and deliver information sessions to clients and stakeholders, on community-based employment supports

  How do I qualify?

Customer Service and Communication Skills

• You can provide effective customer service to clients with disabilities
  • You have the ability to liaise with community agencies, provide information to clients, and resolve conflict situations
  • You have effective communication and consulting skills to write clear, concise reports and conduct information sessions
  • You demonstrate sensitivity towards diversity and inclusion of applicants, clients, and co-workers
  • You have interviewing skills to conduct interviews with clients by phone or in person
  • You have effective listening skills to determine client needs and make appropriate referrals

Knowledge

• You have knowledge of community services, resources, policies, programs and issues/barriers affecting clients with disabilities
  • You have knowledge of labour market trends
  • You are able to interpret and apply legislation in order to review/determine program eligibility and identify infractions

Analytical, Planning, and Organizational Skills

• You demonstrate planning and organizational skills to set priorities, work within time constraints and meet deadlines
  • You have demonstrated analytical skills to collect, document and evaluate information
  • You are able to work in a team environment
